You know that character from the ad, who lands from the future to congratulate himself for the choices he made? It's perhaps one of the most likable ads out there right now. Or one of the most annoying ones – you know how it is, there's no accounting for taste. Whichever side of the fence you're on, though, it makes you think. The character makes a good choice today – a choice he'll thank himself for in the future.
It's about paint, but we can apply it to any activity we choose to do now. You've surely guessed the connection to trainings or DevOps courses – a possible excellent choice for your career, something to be grateful for later.
I thought about what my career would look like in the next 5 – 10 years, and I didn't like what I imagined then. So I chose to change course.

If you're looking for an accredited DevOps course, you probably already know what it's about – it's a way of working in IT that combines software development teams (Dev) and IT operations teams (Ops) so they can collaborate more effectively.
The main goal of DevOps is to improve the speed and quality of the software development process, so applications are delivered faster and work better. In essence, DevOps promotes a culture where development and operations teams work together from the very start of the project, using automated processes and continuous feedback to optimize everything.

What does a DevOps specialist's career look like?
The need for DevOps specialists in the market is undeniable, and an accredited course will certainly give you the chance to land a well-paid job. More and more companies, from startups to large corporations, are adopting DevOps practices to improve the efficiency of their software development and delivery processes – hence the appeal of this relatively new profession in the job market.
DevOps focuses on automating processes, and specialists who can create and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code are in high demand. Security integration (DevSecOps) is also becoming increasingly important. With a shortage of skilled talent in the market, a career in DevOps offers excellent opportunities and competitive salaries.
A DevOps specialist's career is certainly dynamic, challenging, and full of growth opportunities. What does that look like? Here's a possible career path in the DevOps field:
1. Entry Level: Junior DevOps Engineer
Most likely, you'll start out applying for a Junior DevOps Engineer job. You'll have tasks such as automating simple tasks, setting up testing environments, and assisting with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes.
At this level, you'll have basic knowledge of scripting (Bash, Python), knowledge of version control (Git), and an understanding of virtualization and container concepts (e.g. Docker). These are skills you can acquire by taking DevOps engineer training, such as the one offered by Informal School of IT.
2. Mid Level: DevOps Engineer
With the experience gained over time, as a DevOps Engineer you'll start managing more complex CI/CD pipelines, configuring and optimizing cloud infrastructures, and implementing monitoring and logging solutions. You'll also work closely with development and operations teams to solve problems and optimize processes.
For this level, you need advanced knowledge of automation, infrastructure management (e.g. Terraform, Ansible), experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and strong problem-solving skills.

You'll also be involved in continuous improvement strategies and cost optimization for IT infrastructure.
In terms of knowledge, you should have expertise in automation, DevOps security, infrastructure scaling, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) at large scale, and solid cybersecurity knowledge.
